How are Donations used?
We need
your help to continue funding the programs we have underway and to
expand our work helping the people of Haiti.
"Mountains of Hope for Haiti" work in Furcy is made possible by the
gracious support of hundreds of volunteers in the US. In 2012 approximately
130 volunteers from 25 Churches participated on 10 VIM trips to Furcy and
provided their time and hard work to advance MHH projects. Each team also
contributed $3500 which was matched by another $3,500 from UMCOR (United
Methodist Committee on Relief). The funds were used to, among other things,
continue work on the Furcy School, the Furcy Store, and the new Mission
House. Additionally, work on MHH projects was funded by more than 300 donors
who offered monetary contributions via checks, website and cash/credit card
donations during fundraising events in many United Methodist
Churches, all over the United Stats.
Your donations go directly to the programs listed
below; there are no employees or expenses in the organization other than
the expenses associated with our communication efforts. We can
guarantee that 100% of your gift will go directly to the area that you
select.
"Mountains of Hope for Haiti" does not receive
funding from the United Methodist Church or directly from the New York
Annual Conference, except for special donations from the Bishop’s
Partner in Mission Fund.
"Mountains of
Hope for Haiti" operates under the "United Methodist Frontier
Foundation" 501(c)(3) tax status and therefore,
all donations are 100% deductible for federal income tax purposes. UMFF is
also providing accounting
and banking support to MHH.
