building projects
Volunteer teams often support building or repair projects. Volunteers work alongside local workers which not only moves a project along but also promotes partnership and community.
A “building project” may be anything from the construction of a cistern, the installation of a basketball court, painting the church, or the repair of desks at the local school. Volunteer teams work with, and under the direction of, a local foreman and community work teams. Recent projects have included the installation of a playground area at the primary school, construction of a mission house, a residence for local teachers, a boutique, and a new cement patio area outside the church. All projects are determined in coordination with church and local leadership.
Teams also provided support for emergency repairs on the Primary School following hurricanes Isaac and Sandy.
